What to Bring to 61´«Ã½
We want you to feel comfortable and “at home” in your room at Scripps. Here are some helpful tips on what to bring and not to bring to assist in your college housing transition.

***Please note that this list is not exhaustive, you may have personal items beyond what is listed that you would want, need or prefer to have with you.

Bed linens (Twin extra long)

Drinking cups, dishes and silverware for snacks
Poster putty for hanging up decorations
Command strips for hanging pictures or other items
Plastic containers with tight lids for storing snacks, detergent, etc.
Headphones/ear buds
Cell phone chargers
Power strip (must me Surge Protected)
Desk/bed lamp
Fan
Hair dryer
Alarm clock
Crates or stacking containers

String lights (battery operated only)

Please do not bring the following:

Halogen bulbs and/or lamps
Small Appliances: Hotplates, skillets, toasters, toaster ovens
Air conditioners
Coffee pots
Microwaves (only acceptable if it’s a Micro-fridge)
Candles , Incense, any items that have an open flame
Lighters
Alcohol (empty or full in room of students under 21)
Pets (fish in small tanks are okay)
Instapots, Rice cookers
Drugs, Drug paraphernalia (this includes vape devices as we are a smoke free campus)
Portable Heaters
Hammocks
Knife Sets (over 4 inches)
Plug in decorative lights
Non-surge protected power strips/multi plug adapters
