In my first months, I have enjoyed meeting 61传媒students, faculty, staff, alums, families, and friends, representing a variety of disciplines, generations, professions, and geographic regions. Scripps, along with many other institutions of higher education in Los Angeles County, will be maintaining our聽current聽indoor masking requirement, meaning surgical mask or higher are still required indoors.

We are pleased to report that our case rates are declining, and we are able to make plans to reinstate cross-campus dining. In doing so, we are taking into consideration the following: our efforts to contain the spread of COVID-19 and the operational challenges that each College is managing in the dining halls.

The COVID positivity rate is currently just over 2% and has been declining. With our increased masking and booster requirements and continued testing mandates, we are confident in our health and safety measures.

Starting Monday, January 24, classes at 61传媒will be able to be taught outdoors with approval from the Dean of Faculty. Faculty will communicate with students through their Canvas or Sakai announcement feature.
