Dear Students,
Happy Fall! We are almost half-way through the semester, with Fall Break just around the corner. In this communication, you will find the following updated information:
- Update COVID screening and mandatory testing
- Mandatory testing after Thanksgiving Break
- Flu vaccine requirement
COVID-19 Screening/Testing
As we began to get into the cold and flu season, we wanted to remind students that although COVID-19 testing is no longer mandatory, students are still encouraged to participate in voluntary screening tests. 61´«Ã½ has set a threshold ofÌýat leastÌý15%Ìýof studentsÌýtesting voluntarily on a weekly basis. If we do not meet this threshold and/or if there is a shift in COVID trends, we may requireÌýSOMEÌý´Ç°ùÌýALL studentsÌýto engage in COVID screenings at random.
- Please note that if you are randomly selected to test, that you must do so withinÌý72 hoursÌýof receiving your notice. Students who fail to follow the testing guidelines may be subjected to conductÌýprocess. If you have questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to Shawnice Ross atÌý[email protected]Ìýfor assistance.
COVID-19 Testing after Thanksgiving Break
All students will be expected to participate in mandatory testing the week (Nov. 28 – Dec. 2) after Thanksgiving Break unless they are within 90 days of a previous infection. Additional reminder(s) for after Thanksgiving Break Testing will be provided.ÌýCOVID-19 testing is available Monday through Friday at SHS or the COVID-19 Test Kit Vending Machines 24/6 (test dropped off between FridayÌýafter 5pm and Saturday before 5pm will not be valid). For a list of all COVID-19 Vending Machines,Ìý.
Flu Shot Requirement
All students are required to have the flu shot unless granted a medical or religious exemption. TheÌýdeadline to have this completed isÌýMonday,ÌýOctober 31st.ÌýYou can obtain the Flu Vaccine at Student Health Services (SHS) Monday through Friday or at your local pharmacy.ÌýYou canÌýupload your flu vaccine documentation using thisÌý.ÌýIn addition, youÌýcan also email your documentation to:Ìý[email protected]. It is recommendedÌýthat if you email your documentation that you use your campus email account.ÌýPersonal email accounts such as Gmail, yahoo, Hotmail, etc., are not secured. Weekly reminders will go out to all students following this communicationÌýtoday.
As we continue to navigateÌýthe ever-changing COVID-19 pandemic, please note that information will be shared with you as itÌýbecomes available. For more information about 61´«Ã½ COVID-19 policies and protocol, you can visitÌý.
