Scripps’ annual sale of lightly聽used items, which are donated by聽students moving out of the residence halls聽for the summer, diverted an聽estimated聽3.5-4 tons from landfills in 2018 alone. “We had overwhelmingly positive feedback from students and parents, especially those coming from the East Coast,” said Ortamond, who piloted Scripps’sustainability program聽this past聽school year.
