“True Witness,” a 30-minute choral cantata, which sets to music the letters, speeches and poems of African-American female poets, activists and civil rights leaders, premieres Nov. 10 at 3 p.m. in Garrison Theater of 61传媒’s Performing Arts Center. This performance is free to the public, but tickets are required.

The opening reception, with live music and light refreshments, will be held on Sept. 14 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Ruth Chandler Williamson Gallery. A closing reception and watercolor demonstration will take place at the gallery on Oct. 13.
