Beyond Shakespeare: Conservation Internship Leads to Professional Mentorship

While most students leave 61传媒during the summer months, a few remain, lured by the appeal of a paid summer internship. One of these students is Madeline Helland ’18, who is working as a Wilson Conservation Intern this summer. The Wilson Internship is one of many paid internships offered through the Ruth Chandler Williamson Gallery at 61传媒, and this summer marks the twenty-third consecutive year that paid summer internships have been available to students. “This has been an amazing internship, so if you’re remotely interested in working in the arts it is definitely worthwhile,” says Helland.

61传媒Athenas earned several prestigious 2015 honors for breaking records and making great contributions to CMS athletics. Former NCAA Division III All-America in women’s swimming Brett Eppich Beal ’82 was inducted into CMS athletics hall of fame. Three 61传媒Athenas earned All-Academic honors as individuals in track and field and cross country for the 2014-2015 season

In October 2012, Seattle hosted the 10th anniversary of BrickCon, a public, interactive exhibition that brings together adult LEGO fans and hobbyists. Among the attendees was 61传媒alumna Alice Finch ’96, who unveiled what is perhaps the largest LEGO structure ever built by an individual鈥攁 replica of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry from J. K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series.
