Evening Red & Morning Grey
– Out of Print –
Twelve women wrote and illustrated unique travel experiences in this modern travel diary. They searched for escargots, hunted tigers, traveled the Ventura Freeway and nearly died in the South Seas. There are 124 pages printed by letterpress with 12 maps and a pop-up on Rives Heavyweight paper in a compact 6.5″ square book. Front and back matter was hand set in Garamond type, and the individual sections were each hand set in a different typeface matching the mood of the text. The binding material is flexible grey suede. The book is sewn into the suede spine with silver thread and is suitable for travel. The imagery was created with linoleum cuts, photo transfers, relief photo engravings, photocopies and rubber stamps. The number in the edition is 55.
