Academic Focus
As a marine scientist, paleobiologist, geologist, and climate scientist, I investigate marine mollusc shells as archives of changing environments in the past and present. I use geochemistry, microscopy, and data-synthesis tools to interpret shell characteristics as indicators of past environmental conditions, and to better understand mollusc responses to ongoing environmental changes. My research is primarily focused on coastal environments throughout California.
