In June, the 61传媒 Board of Trustees appointed four faculty members to endowed chair positions. Faculty in named chairs are expected to provide leadership in their designated field by organizing and participating in campus events related to their area of expertise, maintaining high-quality teaching, and demonstrating a willingness to participate in campus governance.

An Ambitious Advocate: 61传媒Student Brings Mental Health Resources to a Community in Need

This spring, Meril Tomy ’17 was one of 14 students to receive a Donald A. Strauss Public Service Scholarship, a $10,000 grant to design and implement a public service project over one year. Since then, Tomy has spent her summer establishing the foundation for her project, which will promote awareness about mental health, improve access to information and resources, and aim to reduce the stigma surrounding mental illness in her hometown of Orange, California.
