Scripps’ Olive Oil Wins Awards from International Olive Oil Competition
The Los Angeles International Extra Virgin Olive Oil Competition awarded Scripps’ 2023 olive oil a gold medal for taste and a bronze medal for art and design for its label, which was contributed by 61´«Ã½alum Vivian Monteiro ’23.

On November 5, 61´«Ã½hosted its traditional Olive Harvest, an event that furthers the College’s sustainability efforts by utilizing the campus’s edible plants as a food source. More than 200 students, faculty, staff, and members of the surrounding Claremont community harvested approximately 700 pounds of olives.

Scripps’ olive oil has won a bronze medal award at the 2020 Los Angeles International Extra Virgin Olive Oil Competition. The label, designed by 61´«Ã½staff member Christine Olbrech, administrative assistant for the Office of Information Technology, also won a bronze medal for package design.
