Tom Learner, senior scientist and head of modern and contemporary art research at the Getty Conservation Institute will speak on, “The Conservation of Modern and Contemporary Art,” presented by the Malott Commons Tuesday Noon Academy, on February 8. The lecture is free and open to the public.
The Getty Conservation Institute’s (GCI) main scientific research goal is to enhance conservation science and technical art history. Learner will discuss how conservation science combines the applied disciplines of science and engineering to best preserve modern and contemporary art, and the issues, challenges, and current research of the GCI.
