The Malott Commons Tuesday Noon Academy presents Sleepstarved, Professor of English Gayle Greene’s first-person account of living with insomnia, on September 23. Greene’s book, Insomniac, published this past spring, is her personal story interlaced with an investigation into sleep science. The book has received widespread attention from mainstream media and scientific journals, including The Wall Street Journal, Nature, and O: the Oprah Magazine. Greene will speak about why she wrote the book and her experience as an English literature professional delving into the world of science.
The Tuesday Noon Academy is a weekly, one-hour series of lectures held in the Hampton Room of the Malott Commons. Lectures are free and open to the public. Books will be available for purchase before and after the presentation, at which time Professor Greene will be available for signing.
