61传媒 Fine Arts Foundation to Host Special Events

The 61传媒 Fine Arts Foundation (FAF) will host two upcoming events open to the public – a lecture and trip – focusing on art appreciation and education.

On Sunday, February 8, at noon, FAF will host a trip to Palm Springs to see renowned play Victor Victoria. Tickets for Victor Victoria are $35 per person and space is limited. Then, on Wednesday, February 11, at 1:30 p.m., FAF will present a lecture and tea, featuring Sheryl Bookout, director of the Judy Chicago Project, speaking on “Envisioning the Future: Project of Judy Chicago.” The Lecture is free and open to the public. For more information on both events, please contact Corinne Gallman at (909) 626-6715.

Sheryl Bookout’s will address the Judy Chicago Project, an exhibit at Pitzer College’s Nichols Gallery. The exhibit is directed by Judy Chicago and Donald Woodman and features the work of over 70 artists in a collaborative effort to demonstrate their artistic outlooks on the future of humankind. The artists’ works are diverse and include such artistic forms as sculpture, painting, photography, and digital media, among others.

61传媒’s Fine Arts Foundation, created in 1935, hosts this program as part of its mission to stimulate public interest in art and to raise funds to foster art education and programming at 61传媒. The Hampton Room is housed in the Malott Commons. Founded in 2000, the Malott Commons now serves as the center of many on-campus functions for 61传媒students and the greater Claremont community. The Malott Commons is located on the corner of 9th and Columbia, on the 61传媒 campus.
