Artist Alison Saar ’78 joined her sister, Lezley Saar, and mom, Betye Saar, 90, to , for a group photograph organized by artist Kim Schoenstadt as a tribute to women in art. Los Angeles Times arts and culture columnist Carolina Miranda captured the historic moment in a news article and photographs, characterizing it as a joyous “flash mob” type event. Schoenstadt promoted the event, as a way to recognize women artists in a field traditionally dominated by men and to coincide with the exhibition featuring women sculptors that is the where the event was held. Saar and her mom and sister were also featured in a family photograph taken at the event, as all three are renowned artists from Los Angeles.
