Greece’s General Consul to Deliver State of European Union Address at 61传媒

Dimitrios Zevelakis, Consul General of Greece to Los Angeles, will deliver the State of the European Union Address on Wednesday, February 5, at 4:15 p.m. in the Hampton Room of the Elizabeth Hubert Malott Commons on the 61传媒 campus. Zevelakis plans to discuss “European Union Enlargement: Perspectives on the Europe of 25.” This talk, part of the European Union Center of California Spring 2003 Lecture Series, is free and open to the public.

Prior to coming to Los Angeles, Consul General Zevelakis was assigned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Athens, Greece. He was the Head of the Greek Delegation to the 5th Committee of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, and has represented Greece in The Hague, Moscow, and Chicago. Consul General Zevelakis is a graduate of the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Athens, Greece, and holds a law degree from the University of Athens.

The European Union Center of California, housed on the 61传媒 campus, sponsors Consul General Zevelakis’ appearance. Part of a network of EU Centers nationwide, the EU Center of California seeks to promote education, scholarly research, and public understanding of European integration and its consequences.
