KPCC 89.3 FM‘s culture show,聽The Frame, features Professor of Art Ken Gonzales-Day as he discusses his newest聽art show聽exploring a dark chapter of California’s early history: the lynchings of hundreds of Mexican and Chinese immigrants. In his exhibition, which includes a series of striking photographs and a 90-second film, Gonzales-Day draws parallels between the lynchings of people of color in California between 1850 and the 1900’s and the recent shootings of unarmed Latino and African American men by police in Los Angeles and Ferguson, Mo.
