Dr. Lisa Bero to Speak at the European Union Center Spring Program

The European Union Center of California presents a lecture on The World Health Organization (WHO) convention on Tobacco and differences in the European Union and United States regulatory approaches by Lisa A. Bero P.h.D on Monday, March 29, 2004 at 12:15 p.m. The lecture will take place in the Hampton Room of the Malott Commons, located on the 61传媒 campus. Bero’s lecture is part of the European Union Spring 2004 Program. This event is free and open to the public.

Dr. Bero is a pharmacologist with primary interests in science, and tobacco and pharmaceutical policy. Currently, Dr. Bero serves as advisor to the World Health Organization’s Drug Action Program and Tobacco Free Initiative and co-directs the San Francisco Cochrane Center. She is a member of the editorial board of the British Medical Journal, and has edited Tobacco Control, Cochrane Effective Practice, and Organization of Care Group. Dr. Bero has also conducted analyses to examine the diffusion and policy implications of scientific publications. Dr. Bero co-authored The Cigarette Papers (UC Press, 1996).

Additionally, Dr. Bero serves on various national and international committees associated

with technology assessment. Dr. Bero is visiting from the School of Pharmacy and Institute for Health Policy Studies at the University of San Francisco.
