Casanova to Share “35 Years of Achievement”

Aldo Casanova, internationally renown artist and former 61传媒professor of art, will speak on “35 Years of Achievement” on Wednesday, November 13, 2002, at 1:30 p.m. at the Ruth Chandler Williamson Gallery on the 61传媒 campus. A tea reception immediately follows. This lecture, sponsored by the 61传媒 Fine Arts Foundation, is presented in conjunction with the art exhibition “Aldo Casanova: A Retrospective” currently on display in the Williamson Gallery. Casanova’s distinguished career as a sculptor and artist includes numerous awards and honors: the highly coveted Rome Prize in Sculpture from the American Academy; election to the National Academy of Design by a panel of his peers; and being named a Fellow of the National Sculpture Society. Casanova’s works can be found in a number of permanent collections such as the Whitney Museum of American Art, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, The Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C., and the UCLA Franklin D. Murphy Sculpture Garden.
