Multi-instrumentalists and harmonists The Spring Standards will perform September 3 from 5:30-7:00 p.m. on 61传媒’s Bowling Green as part of the Levitt on the Lawn concert series. The outdoor concert is free and open to the public.
The New York City-based trio crafts clever folk and country-infused pop songs that “circle over a rock n’ roll sound with an old country aftertaste,” according to their website.
Most recently, The Spring Standards received a favorable review from the influential music magazine Paste and landed a spot on NBC’s Late Night with Conan O’Brien last season. Known for their energetic live performances and distinctive stage set-up, the band has toured with Squeeze, The Ol’ 97s, WPA, and Marc Broussard. The Spring Standards are currently touring to support their debut album, Would Things Be Different, which they released independently last spring with financial support from their fans. Levitt on the Lawn at 61传媒 is a concert series inspired by the famous Levitt Pavilions summer concert series. 61传媒 alumna Elizabeth Levitt Hirsch ’74 sponsors the series to give back to the 61传媒 community and increase awareness of the summer concerts at the Levitt Pavilions. Ms. Hirsch oversees the Levitt Pavilions venture philanthropy program for the Mortimer Levitt Foundation.
Attendees are encouraged to bring a picnic meal or purchase dinner for $8.50 at the venue. For more information, contact the Malott Commons office at (909) 607-9372.
