Brad and Mary Anne Blaine Faculty Lecture: Sara M. Adler

As part of the Brad and Mary Anne Blaine Faculty Lecture Series, 61传媒 is pleased to present Sara Adler, professor of Italian, who will speak on "Strong Mothers, Strong Daughters: The Representation of Female Identity in the Writings of Vittoria Colonna" on Thursday, February 21, at noon in the Hampton Room of the Malott Commons.

Professor Adler area of expertise is the textual imagery and sub-textual voice expressed in the works of women poets of the Italian Renaissance. "Strong Mothers" is drawn from a lecture previously presented at the American Association of Italian Studies conference in Chicago. Adler, who joined the 61传媒faculty in 1974, earned her master’s and doctoral degrees from Harvard University and has taught courses in both Italian language and literature at Georgetown, Wellesley, and Harvard Universities.

Former 61传媒professor of history and current trustee Brad Blaine, along with his wife, Mary Anne, have generously underwritten this lecture series featuring outstanding 61传媒faculty to commemorate the 75th anniversary of 61传媒. This lecture and all others in the series are free and open to the public.
