On March 30, Katherine Schwab ’76 was awarded the Distinguished Faculty Award at Fairfield University’s Annual Awards Dinner in New York City. A . Schwab, who is professor of art history and visual culture at the Jesuit university based in Connecticut, was honored by colleagues for her unwavering support for her students, love of teaching, passion for her subject, and dedication to sharing ancient Greek and Roman art. , one of Greece’s leading newspaper websites, recently interviewed Schwab about her research on ancient Greece’s most famous coiffure, the intricate braided hairstyles of the caryatids that stand in place of columns in the south porch of the Acropolis in Athens.
