Lars Schmitz, associate professor of biology in the W.M. Keck Science Department, 听迟辞 National Geographic about the valuable role that modern imaging techniques play in paleontological discoveries. Schmitz collaborated with a team of international researchers to reconstruct a Shuvuuia skull using CT scans that captured the anatomy of the dinosaur in great detail from the inside out. Schmitz believes that “the availability of modern imaging and rendering techniques is a big factor” in discovering new information about dinosaur behavior through fossil study.
