Professor of Anthropology Lara Deeb her new co-edited book, Practicing Sectarianism: Archival and Ethnographic Interventions on Lebanon, published by Stanford University Press. The book uses Lebanon as a case study to explore the ways that people live sectarianism, which is broadly defined as political or cultural conflict between groups. The co-editors said they “decided to focus the volume on anthropology and history because we saw a potentially fruitful conversation to be had between these two disciplines.”
