Stressed out from finals and papers? Need something fun and relaxing to do that requires no critical thinking? 61传媒has the perfect remedy: puppies and popsicles.
On a day during finals week when the temperature was hovering around 90 degrees, students were invited to cool off in the shade outside Tiernan Field House with adorable puppies and relax with a refreshing popsicle.
Inspired by Pomona College’s “puppies and bunnies” event from last year, where students from the 5-Cs were invited to drop by and feel like kids again with a furry critter, 61传媒 got in on the action and hosted its own event on May 5, sponsored by the Field House and organized by Jocelyn Price ’11.
The College collaborated with Torrance-based Puppies and Reptiles for Parties, a company that provides small animals for parties, local schools, and colleges. All of the puppies are at least three months old so that they’re sociable and are from a reputable breeder and available for sale. Puppy breeds on display this day included Yorkie, Maltese, shih tzu, miniature dachshund, a Jack Russell terrier, and even a shih tzu-dachsund mix, known as a “schweenie.”
“It’s great for everyone,” said Puppies and Reptiles representative Beth. “It offers the social skills that the puppies need and a fun way to relax [for the students.]”
