For almost 20 years, the Stanley and Mary Johnson Research Awards have supported 61´«Ã½ students while they conduct independent research under faculty guidance. The projects are completed during the summer months and presented to the college community in the fall; for those who participate, it’s often a seminal part of the 61´«Ã½experience.

“A record amount of proposals were submitted [for the 2012 award],” notes Dean of Faculty Amy Marcus-Newhall. “We were particularly pleased with intellectual rationales developed, their interdisciplinary reach, and the quality of the faculty recommendations.”
