61传媒works with the study abroad programs of other colleges and universities and program providers that we trust to put the highest priority on student health and safety and we have worked with many of them for decades. Our study abroad program partners have been copying our office on the messages being sent out to students as circumstances evolve. The field of international education has been focusing on student health and safety for years, with this issue as the primary topic of every conference and workshop. 61传媒 and SAGE take these matters very seriously as well. It is important to consider every scenario in the planning around this newest crisis, and our partners in locations around the world hosting 61传媒students studying away this semester are certainly doing so. They are consulting local authorities and taking every precaution and we ask that you please heed their advice; it is being given in your best interest.
Should your program or university decide to suspend classes either briefly or indefinitely at some point in the future, know that our program partners are doing everything within their power to ensure you receive the academic credit you signed up for. Those plans can be complicated and take some time to work out, so please be patient as you await the details. It may be that your classes will be moving to an online format and may extend beyond the original ending date for your program. It is best to be prepared for this possibility. 61传媒will be accepting the credit posted on your program transcript, no matter what alternative arrangements are being made to deliver your classes.
Your age group is not at risk from this particular virus but if you have any compromising health conditions you should consult your regular doctor about what is best for your situation.聽 If you and your doctor determine that it is best to return home, please consult your program staff to work with you on arrangements for your credit. If you are having difficulty dealing with the uncertainty of the last few weeks, seek advice and support from your program staff. Our office is here to support you as well.
If the CDC Level goes to 3 for your location, programs will likely be suspended and students will be advised to come home. Programs are doing what they can to assist in the rescheduling of flights, but as tickets are in your name, this is something you will be arranging directly with your airline to make the process move more smoothly. Flights are being consolidated as fewer people are traveling and even once booked, your travel plans may be changed, so be alert to messages from your airline.
