61传媒Presents has announced its programming for the fall 2021 season, which will center the diverse experiences of the 61传媒 and surrounding Los Angeles-area communities. Guests include Minor Feelings author Cathy Park Hong, journalist Kat Chow and writer Rebecca Solnit. 61传媒 faculty Martha Gonzalez, lead singer of the Grammy Award-winning band Quetzal and associate professor of Chicanx Latinx studies; Hao Huang, Bessie and Cecil Frankel Chair in Music and host of the revelatory podcast , in special collaboration with Assistant Professor of Dance Kevin Williamson; and Suchi Branfman, senior lecturer in dance and prison abolitionist, will also join this season鈥檚 slate of programming.
鈥淎s we prepare to welcome our students, faculty and staff to campus for the first time in 18 months, the singular community that defines 61传媒has been foremost in our mind,鈥 said Corrina Lesser, artistic director of 61传媒Presents. 鈥淥ur faculty鈥檚 brilliant scholarship and creativity are immense, and putting that work at the center of the 61传媒Presents season felt like the perfect way to bring us back together.鈥
The series is once again partnering with PEN America and the Strand Bookstore for the author conversation series, announced today. This season鈥檚 line-up features four vital conversations between authors, politicians, journalists and activists. Participants include Hillary Clinton, Louise Penny, Susan Choi, Wole Soyinka, Sandra Cisneros and Pamela Paul.

Founded in 2016 as 61传媒鈥檚 premiere public events program, 61传媒Presents is committed to hosting thought-provoking conversations with emerging and established scholars, writers, performers and thinkers.
