61传媒 faculty will be featured daily during the week of June 1, 2020, on WAMC Northeast Public Radio鈥檚 Academic Minute, a daily podcast dedicated to condensed updates on groundbreaking research. Hosted by Dr. Lynn Pasquerella, president of the Association of American Colleges and Universities,聽Academic Minute features a different professor each day, drawing experts from top research institutions. WAMC is a member of National Public Radio (NPR).

Associate Professor of Psychology Jennifer Groscup delves into why people consent to searches, even when given the option to decline; Associate Professor of Environmental Science Branwen Williams questions how much of the recent, very rapid warming that we have been experiencing is caused by people and how much would have occurred in our absence; and Associate Professor of Economics Nicholas Kacher explores housing policy on job creation and labor markets. In addition, Associate Professor of Mathematics Christina Edholm shows how mathematical models can provide insight into different questions about diseases and outbreaks and can also predict possible management options to change the course of an outbreak and prevent future cases. Professor of Economics Sean Flynn offers two simple changes that will cut US healthcare costs by 75 percent while delivering universal access, coverage for preexisting conditions, and an ironclad safety net.
