Elizabeth聽Robbins聽Turk ’83聽was featured in the聽聽for her newest artwork, The Shoreline Project. Turk was commissioned by the Laguna Art Museum to create the project, described as “environmental performance art,” for the museum’s annual Art & Nature聽festival. The sculpture, which consists of 1,000 illuminated umbrellas featuring a seashell X-ray mandala, will come to life on November 3 on Laguna’s Main Beach. “I want it to be quiet and fragile and trumpet things that are the opposite of the 芒鈧渘oise’ we’re experiencing now in the world,” says Turk, who is also a recipient of the MacArthur “genius” grant.
