This November, the 61´«Ã½community once more demonstrated its remarkable spirit of giving by not only achieving but surpassing the College’s GivingTuesday donor goal for 2023. Participants went above and beyond the initial goal of 350 donors, reaching a total of 368.Ìý
All together, donors rallied to raise an impressive $109,194 that will go toward direct student assistance!Ìý
In addition to the College’s annual spring Day of Giving event, GivingTuesday provides another opportunity for 61´«Ã½supporters to come together through crowdfunding. This year, an anonymous donor raised the stakes by contributing $10,000 in matching challenge funds. There was also a special incentive through a 4:1 match up to $1,000 for students who participated in GivingTuesday. Ìý
More than ever, this GivingTuesday demonstrated the collective impact made when the 61´«Ã½community unites. Alums came out in support of their alma mater, comprising nearly 60 percent of all donors. Parents also made a significant impact, making up 27 percent of donations. And this year, faculty and staff showed their admiration and support of 61´«Ã½students, making up the third largest group of donors. 61´«Ã½students and friends of the College also gave this year. Thank you, all!Ìý
Prominent areas of giving included funding for scholarships and The 61´«Ã½Fund/Parent Fund, the primary operational fund that addresses the College’s most pressing needs.Ìý
If you did not have a chance to participate in Scripps’ GivingTuesday campaign but would like to contribute, it’s not too late! Ìý
