Professor Branfman performed 鈥淩OPE – An evening of intertwining dance and film about incarceration and freedom,鈥� at the Miles Memorial Playhouse, Santa Monica, CA, February 2020. She gave a guest artist workshop/lecture 鈥淐horeographing Women鈥檚 Stories鈥� at the California Institution for Women, Chino, CA, March 聽2020. Professor Branfman, in collaboration with聽 Ernst Fenelon Jr, Chris Rowan, Marc Antoni Charcas, presented 鈥淯ndanced Dances Through Prison Walls During a Pandemic – An hour of readings of dances as imagined inside the CRC prison during spring 2020,鈥� as the culmination of the project 鈥淐horeographing Our Stories鈥� which 聽was abruptly ended in March 2020 due to Covid-19. The event was produced as a part of Jail Bed Drop Project at SOLA Contemporary Gallery, June 2020. She was a recipient of a 2020 Claremont Colleges Diversity Teaching Award. |
