Components of the Application Form
Please answer all the questions. There are some areas of possible confusion.
- Faculty Mentor/Advisor – This can either be a professor for whom you have already written your paper for as part of a class paper or independent research project, or it can be a professor who is willing to act as your mentor in writing and reviewing your paper before attending the conference. Please note your professor is not required to accompany you to the conference.
- Relevant Course(s) & brief description – list any relevant courses you have taken or are currently taking to help you with your research. Provide a very brief description of the major topics covered by the course if the course title is not self-explanatory.
- Abstract – This should be a short description (200–350 words) of the paper that will be submitted. Please indicate what information the paper contains, include the purpose, methods, and scope of the paper, and introduce the subject to the reviewer.
Please note if your paper is accepted, you will be required to submit your full paper two weeks before the Conference. This will allow your panel moderator time to read your paper before the event. Papers should be approximately 10-15 pages.
