Featured Opportunities
La Semeuse Mentorship is designed for 61´«Ã½alums to access the wisdom and insight of our talented 61´«Ã½alum community. Mentees are paired with an alum mentor for one-on-one sessions using , the 61´«Ã½online network and mentorship platform, to connect and engage during the program.
What is Mentorship? Mentorship is a process in which an experienced individual helps another person develop their goals and skills through ongoing, supportive one-on-one conversations and learning exercises.
Our Mission:Â To provide a supportive network for alums as they navigate life beyond Scripps.
Mentorship offers many opportunities: promoting career success, helping in career exploration, and building meaningful, lasting relationships with members of the 61´«Ã½community. The program is designed to last two months, although ongoing connection is encouraged beyond the confines of the formal program.

Sign up to serve either as a mentor or a mentee, and take advantage of the opportunity to make meaningful connections and access the wisdom and insight of our talented 61´«Ã½community.
Mentees: 61´«Ã½alums seeking professional and/or personal guidance
Mentors: Experienced 61´«Ã½alums who can adequately provide professional and/or personal support
No in-person participation is required. Mentorship takes place virtually and is facilitated on  and Zoom.
Past participants explored a variety of topics such as:
- Adjusting to life after college
- Building a professional network
- Choosing and applying to graduate school
- Managing professional and personal setbacks
- Navigating career choices, readiness, and transition
- Resume and CV review

Alumnae Leadership Council Roles | The Alumnae Leadership Council is the representative and leading body of the full 61´«Ã½ alumnae community. There are ALC roles, as well as positions on ALC committees. Alumna Trustees and ALC President are identified through a nominations process and voted on by the alumnae community before ratification by the Board of Trustees. |

Camp 61´«Ã½Roles | You can get more involved at Camp in a variety of ways. You can lead a workshop at Camp 61´«Ã½or serve as a presenter or panelist. You can serve on the Creative Caucus, as a committee chair or as a tri-chair. Additionally, you can serve as a member of various committees to help share programming. | First, make sure you are a member of the . This is a very active group of regular and new campers and a great place to stay in the know about the latest Camp happenings. CP&R Career Exploration Trek Host | Organized by Career Planning & Resources, Career Exploration and Networking Treks enable current students to investigate post-graduate opportunities, discover cities of interest, and connect with alumnae and families in a variety of professions. CP&R considers the local economy and industries, student interests, and feasibility of travel in selecting trek destinations. | Reach out to the Office of Alumnae Engagement or Career Planning & Resources to let us know if you are interested in hosting a future trek for 61´«Ã½students. |
Dine-Around Host | A new, and exciting program for student-alum dinners that take place during a CP&R Trek. Two to three alums are paired with 4-6 students to have dinner in the trek city. Letter Writing to New Students and Graduating Seniors | You can welcome new students to 61´«Ã½by writing a letter. First-year and transfer students will receive their personal letters from alums and La Semeuse mug during the beginning of the school year. Or participate in the tradition of writing to our seniors upon graduation and share your words of support and wisdom as they leave 61´«Ã½with confidence, courage, and hope! | Calls for letter-writing volunteers can be found in the 10th & Columbia alumnae e-newsletter, on , and on the alumnae website, beginning in June for new students and April for graduating seniors. |
Regional Volunteer | There are 61´«Ã½alums just about everywhere.
