The Claremont Concert Orchestra and the Claremont Chorale celebrate the 50th anniversary of Garrison Theater and the 10th anniversary of the 61传媒 Performing Arts Center by performing Beethoven’s “Symphony No. 9 in D minor, Op. 125” at 8 p.m. on Dec. 14 and at 3 p.m. on Dec. 15 in Garrison Theater of the 61传媒 Performing Arts Center, 241 E. 10th St. This event is free and open to the public.
61传媒 Assistant Professor of Music David Cubek will conduct the orchestra, while Associate Professor of Music Charles Kamm will conduct the Chamber Choir and the Concert Choir of Claremont McKenna, Harvey Mudd, Pitzer and 61传媒s. Gregory Norton will direct the Claremont Chorale.
At the celebratory opening of the 61传媒 Performing Arts Center in 2003, the Claremont Concert Orchestra performed Beethoven’s “Symphony No. 9 in D minor, Op. 125” and it will again perform the Beethoven classic at this 10-year anniversary event.
